What Are Baby Ducks Called?<\/h2>\nBaby ducks are called ducklings.<\/strong>\n\nA baby duck is one of the cutest animals you\u2019ll ever see, what with its big, black eyes, tiny bill, and fluffy down.\n\nA group of young ducks is called a \u201cbrood.<\/strong>\u201d\n\nYoung ducks are extremely reliant on their caregiver or mother, but only for a brief period as most breeds reach maturity in just 1-2 months.<\/strong>\n

Just like almost every other animal type, there are specific names for baby ducks, adult ducks, groups of ducks, and male\/female ducks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nA young duck is referred to regarded as a duckling<\/strong>, but what other names would you give to the various ducks in the flock?\n\nThe female duck is known as just a duck once she reaches adulthood<\/strong>, while the male duck name<\/a> is \u201cdrake\u201d.\n\nA group of ducks<\/a> might be referred to as a \u201craft,\u201d \u201cteam,\u201d or \u201cpaddling\u201d<\/strong>, though many refer to a group of ducks as a flock<\/strong>.\n\nA group of ducklings has sometimes termed a flock but is more commonly called a brood (and occasionally, a waddle<\/strong>).\n

What Do Ducklings Look Like?<\/h3>\nDucklings are typically brown or yellow in color. This is called their \u201cdown feathers\u201d.\n\nAfter 7\u20139 weeks<\/strong>, they begin to develop contour feathers, which look more like an adult duck.\n\nWhile ducklings can vary somewhat from one species to the next, there are some aspects that all ducklings share:\n
